Arrival by car to Wagrain
Travel to Wagrain by car, bus or motorbike
Wagrain is ideally situated on major transit arteries, which is an enormous advantage for you on your way to the SalzburgerLand. After all, it means you will arrive at your vacation destination relaxed, refreshed and ready to go.
It couldn’t be easier to travel to Wagrain by car, bus or motorbike. Come via the Tauern Autobahn (A 10) from Salzburg or Villach, taking the Flachau exit. From that point it is only about ten kilometres along highway B 163 (following signs for St. Johann / Pongau) to Wagrain.
Travel to Wagrain by car:
- Tauern Autobahn (A10) from Salzburg or Villach
- Flachau exit
- 10 kilometres in the direction of St. Johann / Pongau to Wagrain
Save some time and be kind on your nerves. By exiting in Flachau and continuing from there to Wagrain, you won’t get stuck in stop-and-go traffic through towns along the way. However, an alternate from Salzburg has you taking the Bischofshofen exit off the autobahn and continuing via St. Johann/Pongau to Wagrain.
The stretch from the autobahn to Wagrain is always well maintained and kept clear even in winter. Please note, however, that Austrian law does require winter tires beginning November 1. Â Naturally, this route is also suitable for tour buses. Drivers on Austrian autobahns must purchase a toll sticker, which is sold at petrol stations and tobacconists.
